David Cook, Account Manager

David is a native San Diegan who grew up, “surfing with my dad, playing soccer, and skateboarding.” His first awareness of the benefits of cannabis came from his parents. Years later, he would meet another Isodiol team member and realize that the sum of his personal and professional experiences made him a perfect fit for the culture and vision of Isodiol. After doing some research, he decided to join the team as an Account Manager. In his off time, he enjoys his family and playing soccer.

Professional History

Combining two fields of study that serve him well in his career with Isodiol, David attended San Diego State University where he earned a B.S. Degree in Marketing and an A.S. Degree in Human Biology. And his solid work ethic got him through balancing work and school.

David worked various jobs from the age of 15. “I then started junior college and work as a warehouse clerk for a medical equipment manufacturer. I took classes at night and worked my way from the warehouse to customer service to supervisor and ultimately a Division Account Manager.” After 18 years, the company was bought out. It was then he moved to Arizona, worked in health insurance, and made the connection that brought him to Isodiol.

Personal background and experience with cannabinoid wellness support

“My parents were military hippies from the 60’s-70’s—van clubs, black light parties, etc. So I had seen cannabis and the positive benefits,” David recalls. “My mom used the psychotropic side of it for headaches. Other than that, I really didn’t learn about the true benefits until laws started to change and more information became available and it became easier to have conversations regarding this amazing plant.”

While he had heard about phytocannabinoids, he didn’t really understand the cannabinoid wellness aspect until he started working for Isodiol. “It’s amazing to find many people I know using the products and more and more people talking about their potential benefits, as I have more of these conversations now.”

Why he chose to work with Isodiol

“I chose Isodiol because of the trust I had in Michael Silvia (Director of Sales for Isodiol) and the market potential,” David says. Michael and David had played soccer together and had gotten to know each other. “I knew he worked in the cannabis space, so when I was in a position to explore other job opportunities, Michael was my first call in April 2016.” David saw the potential as “something I would find exciting, challenging and fun. Plus it fit my healthcare and sales background.”

Long term vision and goals

“In my personal life, I strive to be a loving, present, and active dad to my soon to be born son, to be a present and supportive husband to my wonderful wife, and to focus on the things I can control and not worry about the things I cannot,” David says. “When it comes to Isodiol, I aim to generate $1 million in sales my first year, to be one of the top agents in total sales each calendar year, and to close a 10+ kilo a month deal by end of 2017. All of that means helping a lot of people along the way!”
